Compensation Range : $26.76 - $34.61
The referenced pay range represents the first and last step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities :
Repairs and maintains buildings and most utility systems and equipment, performing a variety of services and skills, including repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment, machines and facilities.
Supervision and direction received under general supervision of departmental administrator, with delegation to appropriate supervisory personnel.
Supervision and direction exercised : No formal supervision is exercised. May coordinate the efforts of lower classified trades personnel or students.
Machines and equipment used : Hand and power tools common to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tile and other building trades.
Typical duties :
Qualifications : High school diploma plus 2-4 years experience in a mechanical / building trades or related environment to provide the necessary experience to perform the above tasks; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and write English and make mathematical calculations. Depending upon functional area, may require a valid motor vehicle operator's license and the ability to operate vehicles in a troublefree, safe, and skillful manner.
