Job descriptionCollaborate on annual budgeting and forecasting with emphasis on medical and administrative cost drivers Build and refine long-term (5-year) financial models to inform product development and pricing strategies Contribute to capital adequacy analyses including RBC and BCAR methodologies Analyze claims trends, utilization patterns, and program impact on financial performance Evaluate cost-benefit of Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and other operational strategies Supervise and mentor junior finance team members Champion process improvements that drive efficiency and accuracy Uphold strong internal controls across financial functions Ensure accurate internal reporting of premiums, claims incurred (incl. IBNR), and administrative expenses Maintain and analyze MLR metrics in alignment with ACA requirements and internal benchmarks Support regulatory filings and audit readiness efforts Stay abreast of evolving financial regulations and their implications on reporting Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 4+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both FP&A and reporting Strong command of US GAAP and financial modeling Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday) Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex data into actionable insights CPA, CFA, or MBA, preferred 2-3 years in the health insurance industry, preferred Experience in a public company environment, preferred Background in public accounting, preferred Prior supervisory or team lead experience, preferred Knowledge of claims reserving concepts, MLR, and underwriting principles, preferred
