Job Summary :

The primary areas of responsibility include :

• Career & Internship Advising : Advise undergraduate, graduate students, and recent alumni, individually and in groups, in person or virtually, on topics related to L&S students looking to break into specific fields (career community), and seek growth in learning about students' varied identities and backgrounds, learning, and communication styles
• Build expertise in the assigned Career Community(s) : Research to build and maintain community-specific content expertise, including knowledge of community specific search strategies, including trends in hiring practices, application and candidate experience nuances, salary trends and negotiating procedures, skills required in the professions, paths to success for underrepresented students, and employers who commonly recruit on campus
• Develop and execute educational programs / resources / offerings : In partnership with other SuccessWorks teams and L&S academic departments, propose, develop, and execute new programs and services or improvements to existing programs and services to educate students, (programs may include alumni & employers delivering the content), and generate ideas & resources to deliver via web, e-newsletter, in person, and asynchronous formats
• Partnership Development : Build relationships with assigned L&S departments (advisors and other frontline staff) to understand department and student needs and concerns related to 'careers' broadly defined, students' career concerns, common post-grad paths, the value of the major, etc. Learn about department led career events, programs, and resources.

This position reports to the Director of Career Advising & Communities and offers a hybrid work schedule that includes both in-person and remote work, as well as occasional evening hours based on event needs. Specific on-site and remote days will be determined upon hire, in coordination with the supervisor. Career community assignment will also be determined at time of hire.

Compensation :

The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 up to $65,000 (12-month) for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
