About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Certifications : Required - BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Must-Have : Ability to pass a nursing skills exam with a score of 90% or higher.

Description :

Department focused on emergency care.

Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.

Failure to comply with fingernail policy may lead to termination of contract.

Level I Trauma Center with a Pediatric Certification and Comprehensive Stroke Center designation.

Facility includes 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, and hallway beds.

Fast Track area available with 6 beds and separate triage area with 3 beds.

Security personnel are present in-house 24 / 7.

Nurse-patient ratios are maintained at 1 : 4 in zones, 1 : 6 in Fast Track, 1 : 5 in observation, and 1 : 1 in ICU / Trauma.

Common patient diagnoses include trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes.

All common infusions and drips are utilized in acute care.

Both ED Physicians and Mid-Level providers are staffed.

A Charge Nurse is present on each shift.

Support staff, including nurse aides and EMTs, are available with prescribed ratios.

Registered Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Shifts include variations of 0700-1900, 0900-2100, 1100-2300, 1500-0300, and 1900-0700.

Scheduling is determined by leadership based on department needs.

Weekend and holiday work requirements vary.

Floating to additional units may be necessary.

Initial onboarding includes unit / department specific orientation.

High acuity and fast-paced environment are characteristic of this role.
