Position Overview : The Espy LLC Operations Supply Chain Manager oversees supply chain, assembly and test of low-volume, high-mix RF electronic systems, focusing on compliance, quality, and lean workflows. Responsibilities include procuring and managing inventory; managing a flexible production / integration line; implementing quality and ESD controls; and coordinating materials and work orders for the shop floor. The position must foster cross-functional collaboration to meet demanding quality and delivery targets in a fast-paced high-tech environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead supply chain and operations activities and team members in a high-tech, low-volume, high-mix RF electronics and software business unit.
- Own and manage the NAV MRP system and processes; manage the migration of MRP to a new MS D365 version.
- Manage supply planning, purchasing, and production activities based on engineering BOMS and operations work instructions.
- Conduct inventory control using established practices including cycle counting, kitting and annual physical inventory.
- Responsible for shipping, receiving and quality assurance.
- Provide operational management and guidance to ensure quality and delivery goals are met.
- Develop, maintain, and train personnel on processes and procedures to prevent and address material shortages, parts obsolescence and / or production delays.
- Work closely with sales, engineering and program management to ensure customer requirements are met.
- When applicable, work and interface directly with the suppliers to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Negotiate price, lead times, and applicable terms and conditions with suppliers as needed.
- Manage strategic sourcing as well as second sourcing of materials.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify risks and close operational gaps.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve supply chain and operations performance.
- Develop high-performing teams focused on achieving segment performance objectives.
- Develop and manage key metrics and KPI's relevant to the business and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of accountability and ownership of sourcing, planning, and production processes.
- Develop good working relationships with stakeholders, internal and external, to ensure effective communication of accurate, relevant, and timely information.
- Prepare, submit, and present periodic reports at multiple levels within the organization, including executive leadership.
- Manages a team of 7+ staff; sets annual goals for staff and conducts performance reviews.
Qualification Requirements
Must be a US Person (US Citizen or permanent resident green card holder).Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, or technical discipline or commensurate demonstrated equivalent experience.Minimum 10 years' experience in supply chain and operations management.Prior functional experience in supply planning, buying, and production management.Experience managing projects with medium complexity and a high-volume of data.Prior experience managing operations and supply chain staff.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with ability to communicate within all levels of the organization.Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people and teams in a fast-paced environment and motivate them to work together as a team.Self-driven, adaptable and resourceful; able to work under minimal supervision.Excellent analytical skills with ability to translate vision into action.Experienced user of MRP / ERP systems (NAV and / or MS D365 experience highly desirable).Computer and Microsoft Office literate (Word, Excel, etc.).Experience in creating and managing a departmental budget and goals.Six Sigma and / or CPIM certifications are highly desirable.Work Environment
