Overview
Head of Technical Strategy & Operations at Snap Inc. In this leadership role, you will ensure that engineering teams execute efficiently on core priorities and business outcomes. You will drive planning, execution and operations, lead select high-impact technical projects and programs, and work with the leadership team. Reporting to the CIO, you will align engineering organizations across platform, product, information security and research on execution mechanisms and strategy, and advance cross-cutting priorities such as ML, infrastructure costs, reliability, performance and technical debt.
This role requires a strategic, technically fluent operator who creates alignment and accountability across critical priorities spanning multiple teams and functional domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive cross-functional, business-critical projects from inception through execution to measurable outcomes (examples include ML platform advancements, reducing infrastructure costs and improving gross margins, AI adoption for planning processes, and building scalable roadmapping solutions).
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to optimize operational efficiency, embed cost-conscious decision-making, and elevate platform reliability.
- Design, manage, and elevate operating rhythms : annual planning, quarterly OKRs, reviews, resource allocations, and cross-functional syncs.
- Own execution frameworks (processes, playbooks, tools) that ensure consistent, scalable project delivery across engineering, product, infosec and research teams.
- Build artifacts—tools, dashboards, and programs—that surface program status, risks and opportunities on core priorities such as ML investments and horizontal engineering programs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and engineering lead, bridging gaps and aligning stakeholders across cross-functional layers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, statistics) or equivalent practical experience.10+ years of experience in Technical Program Management.Proven track record leading large-scale, ambiguous programs across distributed teams in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, especially improving platform reliability, operational stability and performance of production systems.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Looker, Tableau), source control (e.g., GitHub), and ticket management (e.g., JIRA).Experience working directly with engineers and contributing to technical design, architectural trade-offs, and roadmap planning.2+ years of technical leadership or domain-expert experience within a technical organization.Strong technical fluency enabling deep engagement with engineering, product, information security, and finance to translate complex concepts into strategic clarity.Proven impact launching operational discipline at engineering scale, emphasizing processes, cost optimization, and cross-functional alignment.Data-driven decision-making,强 effective executive communication, and ability to influence without direct authority.Collaborative, diplomatic, and resilient; thrives in high-velocity environments requiring rapid alignment across stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications
