Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) / Medical Billing Manager to lead our in-house billing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical coding, billing, and insurance reimbursement processes, particularly with Medicare and managed Medicare plans. This role requires expertise in claims submission, denial management, and working within a clearinghouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the entire medical billing process, including claims submission, follow-ups, and payment posting.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to Medicare, managed Medicare plans, and other insurance payers.
Handle insurance denials and appeals effectively to maximize reimbursements.
Maintain compliance with all relevant billing regulations and payer policies.
Manage accounts receivable, monitor outstanding balances, and oversee collections.
Utilize and optimize the clearinghouse system for efficient claims processing.
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure proper documentation and billing accuracy.
Provide reports and analysis on billing performance and revenue cycle metrics.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable management.
Strong knowledge of Medicare, managed Medicare plans, and commercial insurance billing.
Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD-10) and familiarity with billing software and clearinghouses.
Experience handling denials, appeals, and insurance follow-ups.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Certification in medical billing and coding (CPC, CPB, or equivalent) preferred.
