Qualis LLC is seeking a Corporate Controller to be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions for the company, ensuring compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). This role will manage the accounting team, maintain an adequate system of accounting records, and design a comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of financial results.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead all general ledger, payroll, accounts payable / receivable, and month-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and DCAA requirements.
- Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606 for government contracts (T&M, cost-plus, and fixed-price).
- Compliance & Audit
- Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other federal contract compliance requirements.
- Serve as primary liaison for external auditors, DCAA / DCMA audits, and tax consultants.
- Oversee indirect rate calculations, incurred cost submissions, and forward pricing rate proposals.
- Systems & Processes
- Administer and optimize Unanet accounting system.
- Manage Company payroll utilizing payroll systems(specifically ADP).
- Maintain internal control systems and documentation to ensure compliance with government and corporate policies.
- Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead implementation from M&A activities.
- Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements
Required Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).Experience :8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a government contracting environment.Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements.Experience with Unanet, or similar ERP systems.Prior experience managing teams and leading audits.Skills :Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition standards.Preferred Qualifications :
CPA or CMA certification.Experience with mergers and acquisitions or integration of newly acquired entities in a GovCon environment.Familiarity with Service Contract Act (SCA) and labor compliance requirements.Benefits
