In the heart of Waco, TX, sits the newly opened Hotel 1928, an inspired hospitality experience designed and developed by Chip and Joanna Gaines, and transformative hospitality company AJ Capital Partners.

Located at 701 Washington Street, Hotel 1928 is the historic restoration and adaptive reuse of the former Grand Karem Shrine Temple Building.

Named after the year the building was completed, Hotel 1928 offers 33 guest rooms, two food and beverage outlets, a café, over 6,600 square feet of event space, a rooftop terrace, and a retail shop featuring exclusive Magnolia-designed Hotel 1928 merchandise.

ABOUT THE ROLE - Full & Part Time Available

Overall, as a server, your role is integral to creating a positive dining atmosphere and leaving guests with a memorable experience that encourages them to return.

Your attentiveness, positive attitude, and dedication to excellent service contribute significantly to the overall success of the restaurant.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Greeting and Seating : You will welcome guests as they arrive, seat them at their tables, and provide them with menus.
• Taking Orders : You will courteously take customers' orders, ensuring accuracy and special requests are communicated to the kitchen staff.
• Serving Food and Beverages : You will serve food and beverages promptly, presenting them professionally and following any specific serving protocols.
• Menu Knowledge : You will be knowledgeable about the menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer customer questions and make appropriate suggestions.
• Anticipating Needs : You will be attentive to guests' needs, refilling drinks, clearing empty plates, and addressing any issues promptly.
• Handling Payments : You will process bills accurately, handle cash or electronic payments, and provide change or receipts as necessary.
• Upselling : When appropriate, you will use suggestive selling techniques to promote additional items or specials, contributing to increased revenue for the restaurant.
• Cleanliness and Set-up : You will assist with setting up tables, ensuring they are clean and presentable, and help with general cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
• Handling Customer Complaints : In the event of customer complaints or issues, you will remain calm, empathetic, and work to resolve the matter to the best of your ability or involve management when necessary.
• Following Health and Safety Guidelines : You will adhere to food safety and health standards, maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace and ensuring proper food handling practices.
• Team Communication : You will communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other servers to coordinate orders and ensure a smooth dining experience for guests.
