Director, Operations Support Collections

The Director, Operations Support Collections provides leadership, oversight and coordination of the company's hauling operational plans, goals and major initiatives. The position is responsible for the analysis of operational effectiveness, return analyses, functional standardization, and optimization capability, as well as policy and procedure development and implementation for hauling operations. The position is also responsible for collaborating with the learning and talent function to organize training and development of area teams as well as field hauling leaders. This position and their team will play an active role in supporting area teams to identify and work through opportunities to improve hauling operations effectiveness.

Principal responsibilities include :

• Leads cross functional strategic teams in gathering, analyzing and evaluating operational and financial data. Prepares and presents recommendations for short and long-term strategy.
• Leads and participates in strategic line of business teams including planning, goal setting, evaluation and presentation of results.
• Prepares operational and financial reports for senior leadership team.
• Collaborates with the digital operations team and the area teams to successfully execute the operations transformation initiatives.
• Leads operationally-focused projects to enhance core operating systems and business intelligence reporting.
• Works closely with the customer experience and product development teams to enhance the customer's experience with the company.
• Coordinates with geospatial intelligence systems (gis) group to improve top-line and bottom-line growth through route optimization projects, disposal optimization projects and other gis tools.
• Analyzes monthly, quarterly and year over year (yoy) cost, margin and volume trends. Makes recommendations on strategies to improve performance.
• Monitors field performance and collaborates with area teams to provide support and expertise to help drive improvements.
• Directs and coordinates operations programs / plans including but not limited to blue crew, emergency response and disaster recovery efforts, and acquisition and contract start-ups.
• Participates and collaborates with cross functional leadership to develop and deliver effective training, communication and documentation for operational effectiveness.
• Travel required as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Sustainability innovation :

Republic's recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth. The republic services polymer center is the nation's first integrated plastics recycling facility. This innovative site processes rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed blue polymers, a joint venture with ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our polymer centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of polymer centers and blue polymers facilities across north america. We continue to advance decarbonization at our landfills. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we have 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects in operation and plan to expand our portfolio to 115 projects by 2028.
