Hydraulic / Hydrology Engineer

Role Description : Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Hydraulic / Hydrology Engineer at our Houston office . Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas with 5 years of experience. Experience in the Houston area is desired. The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing drainage analysis modeling and design for public infrastructure and transportation projects.

Registration(s) : Professional PE Registration preferred

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

Duties :

• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using a wide range of models, including HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS
• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting
• Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings
• Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD & MicroStation
• Perform data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS
• Work as a member of a multi-discipline team
• Mentor EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice
• Conduct site visits and document findings
• Write and coordinate preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents
