Offering a four day, ten hour, schedule option, WashU Department of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) adult ambulatory clinics are looking for a Medical Assistant, Level I. Excellent patient care starts from the moment a patient walks in the door. We are looking for friendly faces to welcome and care for our patients who present with many challenges. ENT is more than just tonsils and ear tubes! We work hard to give our patients the highest level of care in a multidisciplinary setting. Our medical assistants collaborate with providers and other clinical staff to create a patient-centric experience. Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

Patient Care Duties :

• Interacts directly with patients in clinic setting and completes clinical tasks, which may include obtaining vital signs, conducting EKGs, completing a phlebotomy and verifying medications.
• Prepares for office hours by doing tasks, such as obtaining charts, scheduling tests and preparing exam rooms.
• Assists with examinations, procedures and lab tests.
• May assist with renewal and authorization of non-narcotic medications per standing orders and department guidelines.
• May administer medications under the order of physicians or nurse practitioner (this includes vaccines and intramuscular and subcutaneous injections).

Salary Range

$16.23 - $21.88 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
