About Us :
Temecula Valley Day Surgery is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center, licensed by the State of California, certified by Medicare, and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Our center is designed for patients having elective, one-day surgery with no hospital stay. The purpose is to provide a patient-focused approach to outpatients requiring operative, Endoscopy, or Pain service, and to achieve desired quality patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner.
Job Summary :
We are seeking a Part-Time OR Surgical Techncian who is an integral member of the surgical team, providing care to patients, aged six months throughout the life span. Care is rendered by providing and controlling the sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment required during surgical intervention. Duties include but not limited to :
- Assembles supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. Opens sterile supplies and prepares for operative procedures.
- Sets up table, instruments and supplies according to the type of surgical procedure.
- Applies principles of asepsis. Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization and disinfection techniques.
- Assists and anticipates the needs of the surgeon during procedure. Works within established scope of practice.
- Works in collaboration with the registered nurse to maximize efficient intra-operative practice, minimize room turnover, and promote prudent use of resources.
- Decontaminates all equipment, instruments, and supplies according to procedures.
- Identifies and responds appropriately to emergency situations.
- Assists with cleaning and maintenance of rooms, equipment, and furniture.
- Assists with inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Seeks guidance, direction and assistance when needed.
- Work schedule will be based on scheduled cases, Monday-Friday, 6 : am - 6 : pm.
Qualifications
Experience / Training / Experience :
High School Graduate or equivalent required.Three (3) to four (4) years of OR Surgical Tech experience required.Graduate of approved school of surgical technology or appropriate on the job training required.Certifications / Licenses :
Surgical technologist certification preferred.Current Basic Life Support Certification required.Other Skills and Abilities :
Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with facility standards and guidelines.Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.Must have knowledge of PC and applications.Benefit Highlights :
