Job Summary :
The Cash Posting Representative is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of all payments received by insurance carriers, facilities, and patients.This position will enter daily lock box totals, balance cash posted against deposits received, and generates month end reports.The person will research automated posting exceptions and take appropriate action to resolve and / or manually post payments.This position will research accounts and invoices, validate payments, balance accounts, handle unapplied payments, and process credit card transactions as needed. A high level of accuracy is required to be successful in this position. Responsibilities :
This position will be responsible for the cash posting function. The person will ensure that all payments received from the lock box and electronic 835 transactions are posted to the Stars accounts receivable system in a timely & accurate manner. This may include both electronic and manual insurance EOB's, patient payments facility invoices, and credit card transactions.Research unidentified payments to obtain proper identification and post to appropriate account. Routinely ensure that all unapplied payments resulting from electronic posting errors are applied to the appropriate service item. This position will enter daily lock box totals; balance cash posted against deposits received, and generates month end reports Qualifications :
An understanding of A / R credit and debit principles and the ability to research, understand and interpret insurance carrier explanations of benefits is required.Previous experience working with electronic funds transfers and electronic remittance advices is a plus Understanding of both private and government insurance carries with experience in both electronic and manual posting and familiarity with COB and ESRD rules and regulations is preferred.Prior work experience using computerized billing system is required.Detail oriented, organized, and results driven.High school diploma required.Associate Degree preferred and at least 1 years direct experience in cash posting in a large provide practice, hospital, or large ancillary service provider Compensation :
