The Learning & Development Manager supports the design, delivery, and administration of training programs across Gordon Ramsay Restaurants. This role is divided equally between administrative responsibilities (managing learning systems, materials, and documentation) and hands-on facilitation of training in the field, including onboarding new hires and supporting New Restaurant Openings (NROs). This position will report to the SVP, Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities :
Administrative & Program Management (Approx. 50%)
- Manage and maintain the Opus learning platform for the U.S. (and Mapal for U.K. alignment) : upload content, schedule and assign training, monitor compliance, and generate regular reporting.
- Maintain training materials, brand books, menu updates, and compliance modules in collaboration with Operations, Culinary, and Marketing teams.
- Partner with the SVP of HR to ensure content accuracy and alignment with brand standards across all concepts.
- Track completion metrics and prepare regular dashboards for leadership review.
- Support system expansion to licensee and international partners as directed.
- Assist with ongoing development and documentation of onboarding and leadership development tools.
Field Training & New Restaurant Openings (Approx. 50%)
Lead or support restaurant-level training for new hires and management teams during pre-opening and post-opening phases.Travel to restaurant locations to conduct in-person training sessions, reinforce service standards, and ensure consistent implementation of brand culture and values.Coordinate with Operations, HR, and Culinary partners to align training schedules and content for each NRO.Deliver Train-the-Trainer sessions to ensure operational leaders can effectively cascade training.Partner with HRBPs to identify learning needs and recommend targeted training or refresher sessions based on performance or engagement insights.Provide post-opening feedback and performance summaries to Operations and L&D leadership.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree required.Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Learning & Development, Operations Training, or Restaurant Management.Strong communication and facilitation skills, with comfort presenting to groups of varying sizes.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and travel frequently.Proficiency in LMS systems (Opus preferred) and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to balance administrative and in-field responsibilities.Approximately 50% travel for training, new restaurant openings, and in-market development support.What’s in it for you :
