Paving Foreman

Job Title :

• Paving Foreman Craft :                              Paving Reports to :                 Superintendent Exempt Status :          Hourly (non-exempt)                    Position Objective / Description : In addition to hands-on participation, provides direct supervision and coordination for asphalt paving crew on major civil construction projects .  Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Direct and manage crew members to perform asphalt paving tasks in the process of completing construction projects along with equipment and materials needed for each project.
• Monitor paving operations for proper depth, yield, cross slope and density and ensure that all specifications and project requirements Ensure proper layout of the project from contract drawings to ensure efficiency and quality Standards are met Maintain time and materials records necessary to complete daily records Coordinate and schedule trucks and equipment to jobsite Calculate asphalt quantities and contacts asphalt plant to schedule delivery of material Maintain crew safety and enforces company policies.
• Study project specifications with project superintendent to plan procedures for paving operations.
• Observe assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions.
• Operates machinery to verify repair.
• Establish safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards and company safety program.
• Comply with federal, state and company environmental policies.
