The
Controls
Engineer
will
be responsible for
the interpretation of scope and hardware / software design, database creation, graphical user interface, and the implementation of procedures and standards used in the design and programming of controls projects. The Controls Engineer
will
assist
the installation tea
m with system commissioning and device verification
in the field.
What
you'll
do :
Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems (direct digital controls) and create sequence of operations.
Develop and test software programs to
operate
the system.
Apply
fie
ld
change
information
for as-built drawings and software
Perform tasks as
required
to execute and fully complete assigned projects
including : system programming,
integration, system
and network commissioning and project closeout.
Complete
hardware design and software programming using established standards
Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as
required
Provide
accurate
project
as-built
and commissioning documentation
Perform site-specific training for owner / operator on the total system in full or with
assistance
Provide
proper documentation and manuals for system operation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills, knowledge, and experience :
Bachelor's degree in (mechanical) engineering or equivalent training and experience in a similar field.
Knowledge of
the concepts of HVAC controls in new construction, renovation / retrofit project types, components, and systems with the ability to program and commission pre and post installation
, preferred.
Strong communication
interpersonal,
and presentation skills.
Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules given by leadership.
Demonstrated ability to
operate
independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks.
Physical Demands :
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to
operate
standard office equipment including but not limited to laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
Travel to customer job sites which requires the ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside / inside / heat / cold / day / night conditions.
Must be able to
maintain
a professional appearance.
May be
required
to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or
company
Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
