Job Summary
The Web Merchandiser ensures a superior online shopping experience for Coolibar's customers, while optimizing the performance of inventory and site productivity. This role is responsible for the presentation of the product assortment in web and digital marketing. This includes implementation of merchandising strategies online and leveraging web analytics to optimize product performance, drive eCommerce sales and gross margin dollars. The Web Merchandiser serves as a critical link between merchandising and eCommerce teams, by translating the category and overall visual strategy into online performance.
Role and responsibilities include :
- Develop and implement online visual merchandising strategies to present our products to greatest effect.
- Assist with the development of collection-based / seasonal strategies to present product assortments and drive productivity, engagement, conversion, and sales.
- Determine the inspiration / main marketing stories for each collection and / or season to help steer the direction of marketing materials.
- Determine when product will be arriving, and what will face shipment delays, to ensure that we are marketing in-stock product and creating a cohesive customer experience.
- Manage strategy and merchandising for consumer emails, email drip campaigns, and triggered email sends.
- Manage the eCommerce team's marketing calendar and drive cross-departmental meetings to develop promotional strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with Creative, Merchandising and eCommerce team members to execute plans.
- Make recommendations and execute in-season strategy changes as needed.
- Act as a liaison with the Brand Team and Business Units, working with them to understand the merchandising vision, implement it into the marketing plan, and drive inventory performance.
- Monitor sales data to identify trends and achieve continued performance and growth.
- Act as educator and consultant to cross-functional teams, identifying performance trends and customer behavior patterns.
- Understand the competitive landscape and identify emerging online trends by examining the marketing strategies of key competitors and best-in-class online retailers.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required5+ years of previous eCommerce, retail, or catalog experiencePassion for, and experience with outdoor sports related to our product line (i.e., golf, tennis, swimming / snorkeling, fishing / boating, etc.)Good understanding of the sport / outdoor lifestyle industrySense of trend and development in the sport / outdoor lifestyle industryRetail / marketing analysis experienceAbility to collaborate and work successfully in teams and cross-functionallyAble to make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutionsWell-organized and detail-orientedStrong computer and system skills, including reporting / spreadsheet applicationsInterest in, and ability to learn and use web and ecommerce systems a must.Proven analytical and business planning skillsAttention to detail and accuracy for project executionAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects against demanding deadlinesAbility to be flexible and work in a high-speed environment with changing prioritiesOther tasks as needed or required
