Job Summary
This role involves performing Computed Tomography (CT) scans to generate detailed cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs, assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education : Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Licenses / Certifications :
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
- Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required; and
- Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT) in Computed Tomography or
- One of the following with documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams :
- Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) or
- Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or
- Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Minimum of one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience, preferred.Ability to lift and maneuver patients safely, in collaboration with others, to perform job functions effectively.Principal Accountabilities
Perform CT scans : prepare and comfort patients, explain procedures, administer contrast when necessary, position patients correctly, choose the best imaging techniques, and ensure high-quality scans.Input and monitor patient data accurately.Conduct quality assurance checks on CT equipment. Assist with applications for ACR and other accreditations.Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to management.Be on-call as needed and may work weekends or float to different locations.Provide safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; comply with all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary and quality specifications.Promote continuous personal and professional growth by fulfilling mandatory education and skill competency requirements; contribute to departmental goals and support less experienced staff as a mentor.Demonstrate commitment to caring for each community member by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
