Position : Segment Marketing Manager – Cytogenetics
Location : San Diego, CA or Boston, MA area preferred | Up to 25% travel
Overview :
Nabsys is seeking a Segment Marketing Manager with a strong background in cytogenetics and experience in marketing to help drive the adoption of Electronic Genome Mapping (EGM) for structural variant analysis. This position will focus primarily on cytogenetic applications , including oncology , hematologic malignancies , and constitutional genetics (prenatal, postnatal, infertility). Secondary responsibilities will include supporting adjacent efforts in molecular genetics, human genomics , and cell and gene therapy .
This role is ideal for someone who has worked in or closely with clinical or research cytogenetics and has gained initial marketing experience—either through formal roles, product launches, content development, or commercial support. The right candidate is technically minded, a quick learner , and excited to leverage their domain expertise to :
- Create compelling marketing materials (e.g., sales decks, case studies, campaigns)
- Inform product positioning and go-to-market strategy
- Train and enable the sales team
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for cytogenetics
Key Responsibilities
Segment Strategy & Positioning
Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, workflows, and challenges in cytogenetics , with an emphasis on cancer (solid and heme), constitutional disorders, and prenatal / postnatal testingBuild market models and business cases for cytogenetic applicationsSupport secondary initiatives in molecular genetics, human genomics , and cell & gene therapy as neededDefine and refine segment-specific value propositions and messagingContent & Campaigns
Develop content to engage cytogenetics professionals across digital, email, and conference channelsCollaborate with sales and applications teams to execute campaigns tailored to the cytogenetics marketTranslate complex scientific capabilities into clear, application-driven messagesSales Enablement & Customer Engagement
Create sales training materials, competitive messaging, and customer-facing assets (slide decks, brochures, FAQs)Collaborate with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and early-access customers to develop use cases and case studiesRepresent Nabsys at relevant cytogenetics conferences and customer engagementsAct as the internal subject matter expert on cytogenetics to support sales, marketing, and product teamsAnalytics & Optimization
Monitor campaign and content performance and use insights to refine marketing effortsContribute customer feedback to product and commercial strategyQualifications
Required :
5+ years of experience in cytogenetics (clinical, translational, or research); experience in FISH, karyotyping, CMA, or related methodsAt least 1 year of marketing experience in life sciences, or clear demonstrated experience contributing to product launches, content creation, or commercial strategyTechnically minded with a quick learning curve for new technologies and applicationsPassion for storytelling and transforming complex science into clear, impactful messagesDesire to become the go-to internal expert on cytogeneticsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable in a dynamic, collaborative, startup-style environmentBachelor's degree in biology, genetics, or related fieldProficiency in PowerPoint and ExcelPreferred but not required :
