About the Role

As an engineer on the Autonomy Team, you will develop algorithms that enable our vehicles to translate complex farming tasks into autonomous behaviors. You will enable autonomous tractors to make intelligent decisions, ensuring safe and efficient interactions with people, vehicles, and the environment. You will work closely with perception, localization, and controls engineers on the team to design and evolve the decision making layers of the autonomy stack. You’ll collaborate with product and field operations teams to define safe and effective behaviors for functionally-safe industrial machines. This role is ideal for someone who loves combining math and software and is excited about enabling robots to operate intelligently in rugged environments.

What you'll do

• Translate complex farming tasks and safety goals into autonomous behaviors.
• Configure how autonomous systems execute tasks and define metrics for successful performance.
• Define autonomous behaviors for interactions between vehicles, the work being done, and the environment.
• Enhance robots’ ability to handle failure scenarios, correct inefficiencies, and compose low-level skills into high-level, goal-directed behaviors.
• Work with product teams to help define requirements for how the robotic systems should operate.
• Develop scalable software and tools for onboard / offboard autonomy systems.
• Write high-performance C++ code for embedded systems and ensure quality through code reviews.
• Test your algorithms on real robots in rugged field environments and see your code come to life.

Salary : $160,000 - $220,000 a year

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 to $220,000 + equity + benefits + unlimited PTO. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, internal equity, and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or specialty training.
