Data Visualization / Business Intelligence Analyst (3459)at SMX(View all jobs) ()Port Hueneme, CASMX is seeking a Data Visualization / Business Intelligence Analyst primarily responsible for the analysis, design, development, maintenance and support of database-driven applications.

• This is a hybrid position with time required onsite at the client location in Port Hueneme, CA.The Data Visualization / Business Intelligence Analyst will : Develop reports, dashboards, and advanced visualizations by working closely with stakeholdersHelp define and design reporting data structures and tables;
• Ensure the integrity of the data and the data structuresWrite SQL queries as needed including for extract and loading, data comparison, validation, and cleaning;
• This could include creating stored procedures, functions, views, etc.Help administer the Power BI deployment, workspaces, applications, and permissionsParticipate in the complete software development lifecycle from requirements, prototyping, production, deployment, and supportResearch technologies, standards and services and integrate them into the ecosystemEnsure compliance with all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controlsCreate and maintain best practices, coding standards, technical system and end-user documentation;
• Provide training and assistance to end users as requiredAssist with the preparation of detailed specifications and will be responsible for the technical design, development, documentation, testing, implementation and support of various data modelsSupport presentations to stakeholders, partners, and customers as neededRequired Skills and Experience : Clearance Required : SecretOr ability to obtain;

candidate can start work with an interim clearance but must be eligible for sponsorshipBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics / Computer Engineering, or Mathematics related areas of study4+ years of related professional experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree1+ year of BI development using Power BI or equivalent tool.

Proficient in making DAX queries in Power BI and using advanced calculations1+ year of SQL and databases with emphasis on Transact-SQL, OLTP, and OLAP.

Understands complex joins and time segment dataKnowledge of ETL / ELT techniques and methodologies along with best practicesKnowledge and professional experience in writing Python scripts for automating of processesKnowledge of Microsoft ExcelExceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesHighly self-directed, takes initiative, can work independently while being a strong contributor to a teamEffective prioritization and time management skills.

Can thrive in a dynamic environment in which priorities might change frequentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong documentation and presentation skillsWork requires CSWF certification in accordance with DoD 8570 and SECNAV 5239.
