LocumJobsOnline is working with Lancesoft Inc to find a qualified Gastroenterology MD in Lufkin, Texas, 75904!

Pay Information

$125 per hour

About The Position

An inpatient hospital in Lufkin, TX is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist with ERCP capability to provide locum inpatient coverage. This is a 100% inpatient role with consults and procedures generated from hospital cases—no outpatient clinic responsibilities.

You’ll be supported by an experienced GI nursing team and anesthesia backup within a collaborative hospital environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient consults and perform GI procedures (endoscopies, colonoscopies, ERCPs).
  • Manage inpatient cases such as GI bleeds, SBO, food bolus, gastritis, and ulcerations.
  • Conduct daily rounding on approximately 10 patients.
  • Collaborate with hospitalists for patient admissions.
  • Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage with callback as needed.

Working Hours

  • 24-Hour On-Call Coverage : $3,000 / day (includes 4 gratis hours)
  • Callback Rate : $440 / hour after gratis hours
  • Average Callback : ~4 hours per week

    Job Requirements

  • Education : Completed Gastroenterology Residency
  • Certification : Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Licensure : Active Texas Medical License (Required)
  • Certifications : ACLS (Required)
  • Experience : Proficient in ERCP procedures
  • Malpractice : Clean record highly preferred
