Title : Power Systems Engineer – EMS / SCADA / Reliance (XA / 21)

Location : Melbourne, FL 32904 or Bellevue, WA 98004 (On-site, open to Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our Energy Solutions team supporting Reliance (XA / 21) EMS / SCADA systems . This role combines technical engineering software development , and customer-facing system support for large-scale electric utilities, ISOs, and TSOs.

You'll work on developing, integrating, and maintaining mission-critical Energy Management System (EMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications that power modern grids.

What You'll Do

Develop, customize, and deploy Power System Applications for EMS / SCADA systems.

Collaborate with electric utilities to define requirements and ensure system reliability.

Perform coding, testing, integration, and tuning using C, Java, and SQL.

Configure and maintain Linux / Windows environments and install software updates (Oracle, NetApp, etc.).

Conduct data modeling and database performance tuning.

Troubleshoot and resolve real-time operational issues on live systems.

Manage version control with GitHub and ClearCase

Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality engineering support to customers.

What We're Looking For

6–8 years of relevant experience in Power Systems / EMS / SCADA engineering

Strong hands-on experience with GE Reliance (XA / 21) or equivalent systems (Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider).

Expertise in C, Java, SQL / PLSQL, Shell Scripting, and Oracle DB

Skilled in Linux and Windows system administration

Background in real-time or mission-critical systems

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Familiarity with GitHub, ClearCase , and automated testing tools.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

Experience with Reliance Grid Apps Domain or Power DMS / TMS

Master's in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems specialization)

Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and automated test management
