The Position

The FIFA World Cup 26™ will mark the first time that the tournament features 48 teams and will be hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

This new format redefines excellence, generating unique opportunities for greater participation and engagement from fans and players in North America and all over the world. Reporting organisationally to the Senior Manager, Team Services, the Manager, Team Services Operations will be a key member of the FIFA26 Team Services team, and work in close collaboration with the wider Team Services team, other tournament functional areas and other key individuals responsible for coordinating the operational delivery of services for participating teams (FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ and FIFA World Cup 26) in the United States.

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Manager, Team Services Operations for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
  • Reaching agreements with all relevant functional areas, drafting all Team Services concepts, and organizing Team Services-related events (seminars, workshops, etc.) in the United States.
  • Leading a team of eight Team Services Coordinators and ensure consistency in services for participating teams in the three host countries.
  • Preparing various operational concepts, policies and procedures related to Team Services and Referee Services during the pre-tournament time;
  • With Team Facilities colleagues, contributing to operational planning for Team Hotels and Training Sites and informing them about any additional requirements participating teams may have;
  • Driving the cross-functional interactions between FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 26 functional areas with regard to Team and Referee operations;
  • Representing Team Services at various operational meetings and other relevant activities for participating teams (including their families and friends);
  • Locally driving the preparation of Team Services auxiliary events, such as Team Seminars and Team Workshops;
  • Providing support for implementing other tournament-specific services, such as rate cards and open-to-public training sessions;
  • Working closely with Team Services colleagues to deliver the above tasks, including guiding and managing eight Team Services Coordinators in carrying out their job responsibilities;
  • Providing regular reports and carrying out other duties as assigned by the Senior Team Services Manager, in close collaboration with counterparts in Mexico and Canada.

Your Profile

Our requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or similar level of education
  • Able to manage a group of people working on the same projects and, as required, coordinate people in other functional areas to contribute to projects.
  • High energy levels, exceptional planning and organizational skills, strong negotiation and facilitation skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, and positive relationship management abilities.
  • Capable of making decisions using problem-solving skills and exercising sound judgement to achieve results.
  • Comfortable working in an international, demanding and changing environment.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to and work well with people of other cultures and backgrounds.
  • Able to hire, develop, coach, appraise and retain experienced and less experienced employees.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in event management, ideally at the international level.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects, including both pre-event planning and event implementation.
  • Knowledge of team services and competitions in a tournament setting, ideally from working in or at least having a thorough understanding of a football team environment.
  • Extensive and well-founded knowledge of event and competition operations.
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
