Slot Mechanic-Eldorado-Full-Time-Varies (Reno)
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : Responsible for providing superior service to casino guests, monitoring floor activities for the day-to-day operations in the Slot Department.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : (Includes, but is not limited to the following.)
Provide a welcome, comfortable and friendly atmosphere to casino guests through positive guest interactions.
- Develop Slot players and host guests through guest recognition and Slot marketing tools;
- Safeguard company assets within the Slot Department, accurately account for assigned bank;
- Provide minor slot machine maintenance / malfunction repair. Report any slot machine repairs needed;
- Initiate via computer, write up, process and pay out jackpots for guests;
- Accurately process, via computer or manually, applicable jackpot tax forms;
- Assure that all phases of assigned area are functioning properly and report any problems;
Process and transport coin / currency / credit purchases for department cash sources.
- Perform all duties and functions of a High Limit Cashier or Poker Host as assigned;
- Provide general supplies and amenities to guests;
- Resolve guest complaints in a manner that insures guest satisfaction within the scope of their authority;
- Facilitate the movement of company funds related to the day-to-day operations of the department and ensure the security of funds within their province;
- Report any irregularities, suspicious acts, or unusual persons observed on property;
Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with : all State, Federal and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures that pertain to their job.
Report any safety issues identified on property, take initiative to prevent accidents to guest and team members.

Smile, make eye contact, calling the guest by name, generating a conversation, making them feel comfortable.
Serve the guest. Be efficient and productive, open to questions and asking questions, listening to them, tone of voice, body language / facial expressions / gestures, assist them to meet their needs and keeping them happy, using good manners.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS : Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Excellent communication skills. Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. Perform complex tasks, reading writing and math. Ability to follow instructions, instruct others and meet time requirements.
Must be familiar with all machine types and locations. Skill in establishing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with staff and guests.
Ability to perform basic math. Ability to perform limited computer operation functions. Regular, predictable attendance and scheduling flexibility required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education : High school education or equivalent.
Experience : Minimum 6 months experience in Slot Operations.
Certificate / License : Register with the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS : Work is performed in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or brightly illuminated.
May work with electrical, mechanical and computer equipment. Frequent contact with guests, staff, and other departments is necessary.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS : (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position). Requires mobility to include seldom sitting, crawling, climbing, and balancing;
occasional reaching overhead from floor to 6 ft., bending over, crouching, kneeling, pushing / pulling with a static exertion effort not to exceed 50 lbs.
maneuvering and transporting of carts weighing up to 500 lbs; frequent standing / walking, lifting / carrying of up to 50 lbs.
repetitive use of both hands to include light and firm grasping and finger dexterity; the ability to distinguish numbers, letters, and symbols;
use of radio, computer, telephone and calculator; normal vision range and absence of color blindness.
