Join an outstanding multi-disciplinary team including an on-staff psychiatric team and licensed clinical staff. Klamath Basin Behavioral Health is an accredited NHSC facility.

The National Health Service Core (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program is open to licensed primary care medical, dental, and mental and behavioral health providers who are employed by accredited sites.

Pay Range :

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education and experience as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Salary : $60,000 - $70,302 DOE

At Klamath Basin Behavioral Health (KBBH), we know that real change happens when people feel seen, supported, and empowered. As a Therapist embedded within the DHS Child Welfare system, youll provide vital clinical services to children and families navigating some of lifes hardest moments, and help ensure those moments are not what define them.

In this role, youll go beyond traditional therapy : youll be a stabilizer in times of crisis, a guide through court-ordered treatment, and a champion for reunification and resilience. Youll partner closely with DHS teams, foster care providers, and the courts to deliver timely, trauma-informed care that supports child safety and family healing.

Your Purpose in Action

This is a performance-based position for someone who thrives on accountability, collaboration, and meaningful outcomes. As a DHS-embedded therapist, you are responsible for :

Delivering Responsive, Trauma-Informed Care

  • Provide therapy for court-mandated clients, including children in foster care and parents working toward reunification
  • Complete mental health assessments for all children age 4+ entering foster care to determine clinical needs
  • Deliver individual, family, and group therapy in line with treatment goals and timelines required by DHS
  • Support client stability through parent training, support groups, and care coordination
  • Serving as a Clinical Partner in the Legal Process

  • Prepare court-ready documentation that supports timely treatment progress
  • Respond to subpoenas and appear in court to share clinical findings when needed
  • Maintain close communication with DHS caseworkers, attorneys, and providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Meeting Standards with Integrity

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and update treatment plans, and document DSM-5 diagnoses
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency standards and Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs)
  • Provide crisis support, case management, and warm handoffs to community resources

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Education & Credentials

    You must qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) under Oregon Administrative Rule by holding one of the following degrees :

  • A graduate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or another behavioral science field
  • Experience & Skills

  • Strong clinical judgment and experience conducting mental health assessments
  • Experience with family systems, child welfare, or trauma-informed care strongly preferred
  • Must be comfortable writing treatment plans, making DSM-5 diagnoses, and providing therapy
  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and collaboration skills required
  • Licensure / Certification

  • Must possess a valid Oregon drivers license and automobile insurance
  • Must obtain and maintain MHACBO QMHP-C certification if not licensed or in active licensure pursuit
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. required
