Material Handler

A shipping and receiving clerk handles incoming and outgoing packages in a warehouse. Job duties include tracking inventory, keeping accurate records, packaging and weighing items, printing shipping labels and postage, inspecting goods received for damage, and distributing products to other departments.

Responsibilities

Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies. Collaborate and communicate with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products. Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintain a clean, neat, and organized workspace. Promptly unload trucks and deliveries, and sort and stock receivables. Maintain an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately. Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude. Provide additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.

Essential Skills

Experience in inventory management. Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes. Ability to pick and load efficiently. General labor skills.

Strong attention to detail. Ability to perform heavy lifting. Strong communication skills.

Work Environment

Work in a production environment at a manufacturer of plastic packaging. The hours for this position are 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires heavy lifting of boxes, scanning, and attention to detail.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warwick, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
