We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. This role provides essential assistance in helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally by delivering individualized support in the classroom.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE :

• Provide daily support to students receiving special education services under the guidance of the lead teacher and special education team
• Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior plans, and tailored instructional strategies
• Support students with classwork, small-group instruction, and transitions throughout the school day
• Reinforce positive behavior, model appropriate communication, and assist with de-escalation strategies when needed
• Monitor and record student progress, behavior, and milestones for teacher review
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Assist students with daily living skills if required, including mobility support, communication devices, feeding, or toileting / hygiene care
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure students receive consistent, comprehensive support
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
