Must-Have : Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system; proficient in electronic health records documentation; proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects; able to assume the role of charge nurse; able to complete admissions and discharges; competent in the use of IV pumps; competent in care of diabetic patients

Description :

We are seeking an experienced Adult Psych RN with the ability to work rotating shifts and weekends.

The unit serves a patient population of adults ages 18 to 65 who are facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

We also treat dual diagnosis patients who require detoxification while addressing their mental health concerns.

The unit consists of 30 beds and is equipped to care for some medically acute patients.

The clinician to patient ratio will be 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients.

Candidates must be knowledgeable about the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations, as well as the rights of inpatients, particularly regarding restraint and seclusion.

Familiarity with legal statuses, guardianship laws, healthcare proxies, and court-ordered medication is also required.

Training in AVADE and lead EKG will be offered on-site.

Floating to other units may be required.

Rotating shifts are required for Day positions, but not for Night positions.
