Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders in cross-projects and team settings to identify and clarify business or product questions to answer. Translate and refine questions into tractable analysis, evaluation metrics, or mathematical models.
• Design and evaluate models to express and solve defined problems with appropriate data infrastructure or existing data models.
• Gather information, goals, priorities, and context around questions, as well as the existing and upcoming data infrastructure.
• Own data gathering, extraction, and consolidation across sources using tools such as SQL, R, Python. Format, restructure, and validate data to ensure quality and readiness for analysis.

About the Job

Our team's mission is protecting Android users from abusive apps, including malware, content abuse, impersonation, and behavioral abuse. The role involves technically interesting, adversarial-style work to detect bad actors and improve the Android ecosystem's safety. You will work with multiple stakeholders across product, engineering, and operations to conduct data research, build methodologies, and investigate production systems to drive ASE decisions and development. Responsibilities include translating data into actionable recommendations and implementing process improvements as appropriate. The Platforms and Devices team covers Google's computing platforms across environments, first-party devices, and services, combining Google AI, software, and hardware to create faster and more seamless user experiences globally.
