Role Overview

We’re seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to support the start-up, testing, and validation of mechanical systems on a large-scale hyperscale data center project in Reno, NV. This role will focus heavily on the commissioning and functional performance of HVAC and mechanical systems, ensuring all installations meet design intent and operate as intended prior to turnover. The position requires strong technical acumen, field experience, and coordination with QA / QC, controls, and vendor teams to deliver a seamless system start-up.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning (Cx) :

• Lead and execute mechanical commissioning activities for critical systems including chillers, cooling towers, CRAH / CRAC units, pumps, and piping systems.
• Develop, execute, and track commissioning checklists, pre-functional and functional performance tests (FPTs).
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and controls engineers to validate equipment operation and system integration.
• Support and witness start-up, balancing, and integrated systems testing (IST).
• Document commissioning results, deficiencies, and retest outcomes; drive closure of punch items to ensure system readiness for turnover.
• Support the creation of system manuals, O&M documentation, and turnover packages.
