Job Description :
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and manage a network of outside carriers to move freight in the most profitable manner.
- Negotiate rates with carriers to meet margin requirements and ensure maximum profitability.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and adequate service levels where freight is picked up and delivered using safe, reliable carriers.
- Using electronic means, post information on available trucks and capacity for specific regions.
- Establishes and maintains a book of regular business and builds freight volume from existing customers.
- Solicit new sales by developing leads and cold calling potential customers.
- Markets, services and promotes J.B. Hunt's transportation products and services.
- Foster excellent customer relations by prompt response to electronic order requests to maximize freight potential.
- Book loads tendered from customers, trace loads as needed and handle any other related duties.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED with up to 1-2 years of experience.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or related field with 1-3 years of experience in transportation / logisticsKnowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsettersAbility to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect mannerAbility to process information with high levels of accuracyDemonstrate effective self-management practices and ability to manage multiple concurrent objectivesRecognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problemsKnowledge and ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and peersAbility to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.Compensation :
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
