Job Summary

The Child Trauma Research Program (CTRP) Clinical Social Worker is a full-time position within CTRP, a clinical research program at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of California, San Francisco. CTRP is nationally recognized for its leadership in developing effective, family-centered interventions for children aged birth through five who experience traumatic events. Our team of multi-cultural, multilingual staff is dedicated to helping young children and their families heal from trauma. We develop and evaluate effective treatment models, provide training across settings and disciplines, and offer direct service to children and their families. Since 2001, CTRP has been the lead program of the Early Trauma Treatment Network, a center of the federally- funded National Child Traumatic Stress Network. Five randomized trials support the efficacy of Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), our intervention for children aged 0-5 who have experienced at least one traumatic event (e.g. maltreatment, the sudden or traumatic death of someone close, a serious accident, sexual abuse, exposure to domestic violence). As a result, many organizations across the country and internationally are seeking training in CPP.

CTRP is funded to conduct clinical research and dissemination of training on Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and other related early childhood trauma-informed interventions. There are currently approximately 15 research protocols at CTRP approved by the Committee for Human Research at UCSF. Clinical provision and clinical administrative support is also critical for the functioning of CTRP.

The CTRP CSW will work independently in close collaboration with the Community Programs team at CTRP, CTRP staff, and stakeholders from community agencies. The person in this position will provide : a) mental health consultation, b) technical assistance to CPP community sites, c) direct clinical work, and d) assistance toward grant monitoring and reporting. This position requires travel locally and nationally.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $50.03 - $74.34 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, possession of a clinical social worker license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, and three years of post-master's experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
• Knowledge of and experience with a range of interventions for children and adolescents exposed to emotional and physical trauma .
• Completed CPP Implementation level training and on the CPP National Roster.
• Experience training and / or supervising in CPP.
• Experience with DSM-5 diagnoses and providing mental health assessment and treatment to children and youth
• Experience working with populations that are culturally diverse in gender, sexual orientation, language, disabilities, race and ethnicity
• Demonstrated excellent attendance, integrity. professionalism, reliability, and timeliness of paperwork duties.
• Strong problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise and knowledge of San Francisco County services and resources for children, youth and families and knowledge of coordinated care for the population served through CAS.
• A preliminary job offer and assignment may be extended pending successful background clearance.
