Salary : Salary Range : $100,000 To $125,000 Annually
FMCS provides a medical home for children and adults in our care. Managing patient care is a team effort that involves clinical and nonclinical staff (e.g. physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, coordinators, schedulers) interacting with patients and working to achieve high quality care for our patients. Our providers and staff use a team-based approach to care and place a high value on teamwork.
INTRODUCTION
Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Provider is responsible for, but not limited to, the provision of culturally competent care to patients in his / her / their designated specialty. This includes the diagnosis and treatment of physical and behavioral health conditions, counseling and education, and continued comprehensive health care of any patient seen at FMCS. The Provider is responsible for the clinical and administrative tasks required to deliver quality, safe healthcare services. By the nature of the profession, the level of assignment will call for a maximum degree of knowledge, professional judgment and ingenuity.
MAJOR DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supports the agency in contributing to improve health outcomes, improve patient experience, support care team well-being and the financial sustainability
- Provide primary medical services to children, adolescents, and adults in accordance with the primary medical protocol and their medical specialty
- Work in close concert with Medical Director, Pediatric Physician, and Family Practice physicianTo provide clinical services in compliance with treatment protocol
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with case managers to discuss difficult clients
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings with agency staff
- Provide ongoing education to staff and clients on prevention and treatment for those of all ages
- Review of referrals, labs, and interface with referring physicians
- To assist in oversight of medical staff to ensure smooth flow of front and back-office procedures
- To assist with regular inventories of supplies and medications
- To assist with review and update formulary at FMCS
- Participate in assessment of the appropriateness of medical component with respect to being a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
- Educate patients on the value of a health care visit
- Locks notes in a timely manner (within 48 hours) and fixes and addresses any outstanding claims
- Effectively and ethically handles all forms of communication according to FMCS policy
- Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a current DC Professional License. Must have CDS and DEA (registered in DC) registrations if a prescribing providerGraduate of an accredited school of medicineornurse practitioner, physician assistant, or other relevant professional schoolMinimum of two years experience working directly with children and adultsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
EMR experience, preferably eClinical Works (ECW)Strong organizational skills; excellent communicational skills
