Position Summary
This position is responsible for initiating, preparing / coordinating and monitoring the privileging and credentialing process for faculty, Nurse Practitioners and allied health professionals. Works closely with Directors, Billing Operations, Medical Staff Offices (MSOs), Credentialing Verification Office (CVO), WashU Physician Network (WUPN) and Department of Medicine divisions.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Manages and tracks initial privileging process for all new providers throughout each fiscal year.
- Assists with hospital reappointment for active Department of Medicine providers.
- Responsible for initiating hospital privilege process and application paperwork.
- Advises faculty and allied health professionals regarding the completion of application paperwork.
- Notifies Department of Medicine personnel of new providers.
- Serves as a liaison between multiple hospital Medical Staff Offices (MSOs), Credentialing Verification Office (CVO), Department of Medicine divisions and providers.
- Assists MSOs with collection of documentation necessary for obtaining hospital privileges.
- Advises Nurse Practitioners on completion of their collaborative practice agreements.
- Responsible for obtaining, reviewing and tracking Department of Medicine Collaborative Practice Agreements.
- Serves as a liaison between WUSM General Counsel Office and Department of Medicine divisions.
- Assists with the professional liability process.
- Tracks all steps in "IM New Physicians" spreadsheet.
- Attends and coordinates Credentialing process meetings, as needed.
Credentialing / Billing :
Manages, prepares and coordinates Department of Medicine provider enrollment with the Government and Managed Care Plans, WashU Physician Network and all Out of State Medicaid applications. Includes completion of out-of-state applications and WUPN load sheets.Assists WUPN with reappointment for active Department of Medicine providers.Assists Directors, Billing Operations in regards to untimely provider packets.Serves as a liaison between Department of Medicine divisions and WUPN.Works the Epic Claim Edit Task Manager relating to Credentialing Claim Edits.Creates new accounts and Incident-To Supervising Providers to the Epic dictionary.Adds provider numbers and termination dates to the Epic dictionary.Maintains the Epic dictionary for Department of Medicine providers.Maintains provider licenses.Key resource regarding the credentialing process for the Department of Medicine divisions, billing staff, providers and other Departments.Track all steps in "IM New Physicians" spreadsheet.Attends and coordinates Credentialing process meetings, as needed.Administrative :
