Payroll Tax Manager

Natick, MA

Full time Perm Position

Working on Site 4 days a week

About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Payroll Tax Manager to lead payroll tax operations, compliance, and infrastructure for a multi-state organization. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Workday and MasterTax , proven experience building scalable payroll systems , and a strong ability to partner across HR, Finance, IT, and external providers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all federal, state, and local payroll tax operations, filings, and audits.
  • Design and enhance payroll infrastructure to support growth and automation.
  • Partner with tech vendors (Workday, MasterTax) to optimize integrations and system performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor tax legislation and implement process and system updates proactively.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of payroll tax experience, including multi-state operations.
  • Expert in Workday Payroll and MasterTax .
  • Proven record of building payroll systems and leading cross-functional initiatives .
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • CPP certification preferred.

    • Can work 1 day remote (you pick) other 4 days in the office in Natick MA
