Role Overview
As a member of the Power Market Fundamentals team, you will analyze data, conduct market research, forecast market trends, and model capacity expansion. The role commences on or after January 5, 2026.
Responsibilities
Market Analysis & Research
- Track policy developments, technological changes, and market dynamics affecting energy supply, demand, and pricing.
- Review industry reports, regulatory bulletins, news articles, and government publications to conduct targeted research.
- Stay current on market news, data releases, and other information feeds.
- Collect information on new infrastructure developments and capacity‑expansion plans.
- Draft concise research briefs and internal market‑intelligence summaries.
Energy Market Modeling
Support construction and refinement of market‑forecasting models, assisting with data gathering, documentation, and preliminary analysis.Help compile and organize data for long‑term demand forecasting and capacity‑expansion studies.Participate in model validation and calibration processes.Data Science & Reporting
Identify automation opportunities and support new tools or scripts for data management and reporting tasks.Organize and maintain databases, implementing coding solutions to streamline data‑management processes.Facilitate data sharing between internal departments.Present data findings and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, and other data‑visualization tools.Qualifications
At least one year of experience in energy, analytics, market research, or data analysis (internship, part‑time, or full‑time).Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.Hands‑on experience with statistical modeling.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Power, Economics, Business, or a comparable field.Strong understanding of market economics, power markets, and quantitative / econometric models.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deliver high‑quality work on time.Team‑oriented mindset with attention to detail and a collaborative approach.Compensation & Benefits
Salary range : $70,000—$85,000 USD (based on location, experience, and other factors). The role is eligible for an annual cash bonus subject to performance goals.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid with office presence in San Francisco, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, Princeton, or San Diego. Typical in‑office days include Tuesdays and Thursdays.
