Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Primary duties will be to assist with minor book repairs under the guidance of the Mending Supervisor.
• Tasks could include, but not limited to, the use of book tape, book cloths, glue, cleaning chemicals, cutting boards, other cutting tools such as X-Acto knives, utility knives and scissors, brick weights and book presses.
• Student will work closely with Cataloging staff to access the cataloging module to place internal notes on each item; as well as online databases to check if owned by other libraries.
• Will keep track of mending supplies and report in a timely fashion when supplies are needed; and will keep statistics on all work completed.
• Student may be asked to assist with processing tasks as needed; and under other duties as assigned, to assist with any ongoing book or media labeling projects.
