We are seeking a Process / Chemical Engineer Hybrid / Remote. This position offers the option of hybrid or remote, and is based out of our Richland, WA office.

How will you contribute to the team?

Performs a variety of engineering calculations using traditional engineering methods to document compliance with project and code requirements, which may include mass and energy balances, pressure profiles, pipe, pump and vessel sizing.

Experience in using software tools to model and optimize chemical and engineering processes.

Assists in the preparation and approval of design documents, plant modifications and software QA documentation.

Interfaces with technology and engineering staff and supporting sub-contractors to ensure work is being completed in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that safety is an integral element embodied in equipment design and specification.

Works in multi-discipline teams on project-based work and ensures integration of design across multiple disciplines.

Performs checking to ensure accuracy of process simulation models and other design media in accordance with company policies and procedures and client expectations.

Works to assigned schedules ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of work and initiates corrective measures to overcome delays.

Recommends new equipment, concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify design, reduce costs, correct design flaws or to comply with changes in client requirements, codes or regulations.

Performs independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of plant changes and design modifications.

Relies on limited experience and judgment.

Works under limited supervision.

Some creativity and latitude is expected.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?

Requires Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.

Minimum of 10 years' experience.

Proficiency in process modeling software such as ASPEN / gPROMs / Aveva / CHEMCAD or similar.

Oil & Gas Industry experience a plus.

Professional Engineering License preferred.

Intermediate knowledge of Process Equipment design software and Microsoft Office.

Intermediate knowledge of functional discipline and its practical application.

Proficiency in developing steady state and / or dynamic process simulation models.

Fully conversant with Process Flow Diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Data Sheets.

Strong communication skills.

Must be a U.S citizen in order to be considered.

Expected compensation range is between $77,000 to $129,000 annually.

Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
