SWBC is seeking to hire a Payroll Tax Specialist for our office location in Bulverde, TX. This is an onsite position.

The Payroll Tax Specialist position will give you the opportunity to further develop your career and expand on your payroll tax knowledge, while you serve as a key role in strengthening the long-term relationships between SWBC PEO and clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Payroll Tax Specialist that will act as a support for the PEO Tax Department and will report directly to the Tax Manager at the PEO location in Bulverde, Texas.
- Primarily responsible for timely and accurate state and local tax payments, filings, and associated research.
- Corresponds with tax authorities regarding tax issues and resolution of questions on returns filed. BLS reporting and surveys such as: Industry Verification, OEWS, and Multiple Worksite Locations.
- Assists with certain quarterly client billing reconciliations.
- Assists Payroll department with various tax adjustments. Assist accounting department with tax general ledger reconciliations.
- Registering for new tax accounts and following state procedures for gaining access to tax accounts and researching associated tax requirements.
- Communicates with clients to ensure successful transition of tax accounts during onboarding and offboarding.
Hours/Schedules:
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Preferred.
- At least 3 (three) years Accounting/Payroll tax experience preferred. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience in out of state payments and filings for withholding and unemployment tax.
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office, Word, and Excel and ability to master other software in a reasonable amount of time.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of management; exercising discretion and independent judgment while performing duties with limited supervision.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Sit for long periods of time executing, updating, and validating personal computer applications.
