American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring trauma level 1 experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care Cardiac Telemetry unit12-hour night shifts with self-scheduling options, including 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week blockExpected to work 2 out of 4 major holidaysNurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 3 or 1 : 4Patient population includes CABG, MVR, STEMI, heart failure, fundoplication, VATS decortication, and vascular repair casesResponsible for titrating drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, and AmiodaroneTelemetry monitoring is performed with GE equipment; off-unit tele techs assist but RNs need to interpret common rhythmsUses Cerner for documentationFloating required to all applicable areasRespiratory equipment in use includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannulaTwo-day unit-specific orientation providedParticipation in a SIMs Lab that evaluates sterile field skills on day 1 of orientation is mandatory and pass / failFailure to pass the dysrhythmia or sterile technique exams after two attempts results in a six-month disqualification for the regionCharge / resource nurse ideally does not take patient assignmentsSupport staff includes 1 patient care technician for every 16 bedsNavy blue scrubs are required and not providedMust have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testingTravelers must have their own vehicleRNs are expected to be competent in common rhythm interpretation and maintaining sterile technique\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years RN experience with Level 1 trauma environment requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredCompetence in sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is expectedMust pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with two attempts allowedPrevious experience with post-op cardiovascular surgery patients is highly recommendedMust provide a copy of driver’s licenseTwo references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, both with dates of employment and rehire eligibilityCandidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year\n Benefits\n
