Director of Procurement

The Director of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the company's procurement strategy while managing day-to-day purchasing operations in a complex Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environment. This role ensures the timely acquisition of materials, components, and services for the manufacture of heavy industrial conveyor systems, balancing cost, quality, and delivery requirements. The position requires both strategic vision—driving supplier performance, cost reduction initiatives, and risk mitigation—and tactical leadership—overseeing purchase orders, expediting critical parts, and supporting project schedules.

Responsibilities : Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute short- and long-term procurement strategies aligned with overall business objectives and project delivery goals.
• Build and maintain a qualified supplier base capable of meeting ETO complexity, low-volume / high-value requirements, and tight delivery timelines.
• Negotiate strategic supply agreements, long-term pricing, and performance-based contracts to optimize cost, quality, and lead time.
• Monitor market conditions for raw materials (e.g., steel, bearings, drives,) and proactively manage cost fluctuations and supply risks.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management to influence design decisions that optimize material availability, manufacturability, and cost.
