Summary
The Poly Lineman works as part of a team to support one of the production lines with a focus on operating, caring for, and maintaining extrusion equipment, and improving machine performance. Key activities include process monitoring, minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain extrusion equipment.
- Adjust controls to achieve specified product dimensions.
- Assist with changeovers on extrusion machines based on production line requirements.
- Measure and inspect extruded products for defects and adjust as needed.
- Record machine operating conditions and product measurements.
- Package finished product and move to staging areas for quality inspection.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and manage material boxes (color/regrind).
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Report major process changes to Foreman and/or Assistant Foreman.
- Work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, as required.
- Support collaboration across facility departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.
- Reading, writing, and basic math skills related to production work.
- Ability to use and interpret precision instruments, tools, and machinery.
- Physically capable of performing job tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong commitment to safety in a production environment.
- Adherence to company Quality Policy.
- Proficient in English to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and reports, and to communicate effectively with colleagues.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Walk, sit, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms; climb stairs or ladders.
- Visual abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and color distinction.
- Lift objects up to 50 lbs.
