Job Description :

Join a compassionate team dedicated to providing quality care to animals in a fast-paced shelter environment. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the clinic’s medical program by providing daily animal care, assisting with treatments and procedures, and educating pet owners on responsible pet care. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for animal welfare.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform daily animal husbandry and clinical care for pets under medical treatment
  • Clean, organize, and stock medical work areas and surgical equipment
  • Document treatments, diagnostics, and observations in shelter software
  • Administer and dispense medications according to veterinary treatment plans
  • Obtain and perform diagnostic testing and assist with radiography, treatments, and preventative care

    • Qualifications and Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 4 months of experience in an animal care or shelter environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced shelter setting with exposure to animal allergens, loud noises, and temperature changes
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend, lift, and stoop for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals or other objects up to 50 pounds
  • Flexible schedule with availability for weekend rotations
  • Must wear color-matching scrub uniforms, closed-toe slip-proof shoes, and utilize computer and veterinary medical equipment

If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
