Collections Specialist

Job Description :

Our client is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities :

• Contact patients to collect outstanding balances and establish payment plans.
• Review accounts for follow-up actions or refer them to external collections as needed.
• Conduct insurance follow-up related to underpayments, overpayments, and denials.
• Negotiate payments with out of network commercial insurance carriers.
• Manually calculate fees, adjustments, and balances when required.
• Process patient and insurance refunds within established timelines.
• Investigate and follow up on patient correspondence and returned mail.
• Accurately post payments from patients, insurance companies, and third parties.
• Scan and file relevant documentation in a timely manner.
