The Senior Financial Analyst – Global Costing will be responsible for maintaining complete and accurate costing data for new innovations and base products within the brand portfolio and supporting the development of annual supply chain standard costs as well as performing ad-hoc costing data analysis.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Product Costing, the Senior Financial Analyst will have the opportunity to influence and improve standard costing processes, analytics, and controls. The role will work directly with North American Supply Chain Finance and cross‑functionally with various global organizations.
Role Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate cost of goods manufactured (COGM) and cost of goods sold (COGS) data within SAP via bill of material and pricing condition maintenance.
- Ensure accurate and timely product costing in SAP for new / innovation SKUs.
- Update standards within service level agreements and respond to cost change requests.
- Provide quote cost responses to global commercial or supply chain business partners.
- Complete ad‑hoc cost analysis to support the Senior Manager, Global Product Costing.
- Compile and synthesize data from SAP and external sources, identify trends, and conduct "what‑if" scenarios to support strategic decision making.
- Investigate and resolve costing issues within and outside of SAP.
- Lead inter‑company bulk costing and interface with other departments to ensure accurate COGS and compliance with financial reporting and auditing standards.
- Support the end‑to‑end annual budget process in SAP for all North American locations.
- Prepare and / or gather COGS pricing conditions and conduct cost run analytics by location.
- Implement transfer pricing guidelines to manage inter‑company profit.
- Collaborate with finance teams on cost models and commercial file inputs / builds.
- Provide support, inputs, and analytics for strategic planning regarding COGM / COGS.
- Lead global COGS modeling efforts for 3‑year plan analytics and manage reporting activities.
- Assist other costing team members, leading key budget deliverables and managing deadlines.
- Validate COGS rates in SAP Analytics Cloud to ensure accuracy for the sales team.
- Develop new COGS reporting and dashboards in Power BI to provide insights.
- Maintain and improve standard operating procedures for the costing team.
- Identify and recommend costing process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Support special projects and lead process improvement efforts as needed.
- Complete month‑end activities and controls, including costing data integrity audits.
- Prepare necessary adjusting journal entries.
- Support design and implementation of effective controls over standard and current production costs.
- Coordinate entity‑specific internal and external audits.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.Minimum 3–5 years of product costing and / or supply chain financial analysis experience.Advanced Excel and Power BI skills required.Experience with SAP, Business Intelligence, and Microsoft Office applications.Strong data analytics focus with ability to summarize large data sets and communicate findings.Forward‑thinking mindset; challenges status quo and proactively identifies improvement opportunities.Adaptable to changing circumstances and drives change quickly.Delivers on commitments with a sense of urgency.Develops comprehensive work plans and prioritizes multiple tasks effectively.Solicits input and synthesizes data for good decision making.Builds and leverages relationships across functions to share best practices and gain consensus.Balances detail orientation with big‑picture thinking and downstream impact analysis.Salary Range
The salary range for this role, based in Chicago, Illinois is $82,000–$85,500, along with an annual bonus, 401(k) match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The range is commensurate with location, experience, and skillset and may vary if outside of this location.
