Quality Control Scientist

SUMMARY :

Directly responsible for quality control activities. This includes responsibilities such as raw material QC, final product testing, stability testing, and design and execution of manufacturing troubleshooting experiments.

In addition, initiates and / or participates in continuous improvement projects to improve QC method and processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Follow documented processes to perform QC experiments.
• Identify and investigate manufacturing quality issues with support from Production, R&D, and Tech Support teams.
• Drive daily management of any issues observed during QC.
• Lead transfer of new QC method during New Production Introduction : provide process tolerance requirements to ensure reliability and robustness of method.
• Analyze, interpret, and present data.
• Participate in execution of real time stability programs.
• Perform general laboratory maintenance activities.
• Write and revise documents for quality control and real time stability as needed.
• Responsible for understanding and adhering to Quality Management System (QMS)
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to drive improvement in both cost and quality of QC testing.
• Working Conditions : 60-70% Lab work, 40-30% Office work (writing up report, plan experiments)

This position will be headquartered in Redwood City until October 2024, at which point the office will move to Morgan Hill, CA.

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS : We’re not just looking for hard skills : We’re looking for people who bring their passion and talent to work.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related discipline.
• 1-3 years practical laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience with common molecular biology techniques (qPCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid quantitation / purification, serial dilutions)
• Experience with NGS library preparation is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize scientific results in a clear, concise, accurate manner.
• Strong team working, collaboration and partnership attitude.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Ability also to work independently to plan, prioritize workload, assess, and solve problems.
• Interest in working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS :

Annual Salary Range : $67,000-$78,000 DOE
