Are you passionate about building a strong safety culture and ensuring every team member goes home safely at the end of the day? We're seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team in Tampa, FL. This hybrid position combines office-based responsibilities with regular travel-by car or plane-to commercial roofing job sites across multiple states. You'll play a key role in strengthening our health and safety program by conducting inspections, mentoring field supervisors, and setting the standard for safety and compliance across all operations.
Job Duties :
Setting the standards for safety on our commercial roofing projects.
Working with crews during visits to reinforce company safety standards. Often conducting follow up training when issues are observed.
Mentoring Field Supervisors in safety topics and developing rapport to ensure strong communication exists between the Safety Team and crews.
Inspecting job sites to ensure all crew members are adhering to safety standards and documenting any deficiencies in the inspection so we can improve.
Completing inspection checklist and assigning a score for each job visit.
Documenting and photographing any safety violations while on site.
Performing accident investigations, gathering pictures, and communicating with Safety Director in a timely basis.
Issuing violation notices and stop-work orders when needed.
Conferring with Project Managers and Field Manager to explain regulations and recommend actions for serious safety violations.

Working Conditions :
Work is performed in a hybrid environment (including office, roof tops, customer spaces, vehicles and warehouses). Repetitive bending and stooping with frequent lifting up to 75 pounds is required.
Repetitive finger / hand / forearm motion necessary for completing data entry or taking pictures of a worksite. Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephone keypads and copy equipment essential. Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with customers and staff.
Travel will average 75% depending on customer needs and visits to sites / customers by car, bus or airplane.
Must be able to lift and set up a ladder weighing up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to climb ladders on commercial roofs at a height of 20 to 40 feet.
Must be able to climb a ladder or stairs to get onto a rooftop to conduct an inspection.
Must be able to work at heights ranging from a single story to multi-story building.
Must be able to wear a full, body harness when necessary for fall protection.
Must be able to wear a respirator when necessary due to the environment.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions ranging from extreme cold to extreme heat and other inclement weather circumstances.
