Safety Coordinator

Bulk Environmental & Industrial is a fast-growing leading professional transportation and logistics services company providing long-haul transportation, collection, and loading of waste and other materials.

JOB SUMMARY :

The Safety Coordinator performs various clerical and administrative duties for the Compliance Department. This role is responsible for federal and state DOT compliance including, but not limited to driver and vehicle compliance, regulatory reporting, permitting, driver training, and supporting programs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Conduct daily inspections and record in the FMSCA system.
• Follow up on pending inspections to make sure they are submitted in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with the mechanic shop to ensure repairs are being completed in a timely manner and reported to the DOT.
• Notify drivers and their supervisor of any safety violation in the DOT inspection.
• Maintain a file of all records of DOT inspections, receipts, or evidence of repairs.
• Verify the SMS on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Conduct quarterly owner-operator inspections and ensure all the necessary maintenance forms are on file.
• Prepare and conduct safety training or presentations as needed.
• Manage the inventory and distribute safety equipment and PPE.
• Assist drivers with any questions or concerns regarding safety or inspection forms.
• Perform other duties and / or projects as assigned.

Physical Demands

This position is considered to be mostly sedentary and will require the employee to sit for extended periods of time. It will also require the employee to occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. They may engage in bending, stretching, reaching, and other motions in the course of a working day. They will be engaged in using office equipment and computers. They may engage in lifting supplies and materials up to 20 pounds from time to time. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.

Working Conditions

This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
